JOB DESCRIPTION
- PART TIME
The Assistant Building Manager / Event Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and maintaining the Hammer Center, other buildings, and serves as the liaison for site-managed events.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversees facility while on duty and ensures safety and security of Hammer Center staff and patrons.
- Makes periodic rounds checking to be certain those using the facility have proper authorization.
- Conduct facility inspections, matching event needs with the facilities services and confirming pre-event preparations and arrangements.
- Reports any problems to the Director and/or ORU Security to handle. Does not engage a potentially dangerous person.
- Assists patrons with equipment needs; access to rooms, etc. based on the class schedule or requisition sheets.
- Enforces all building policies and adherence to the same. Ensures student workers are aware of and follow all policies and procedures.
REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
- Requires a High School diploma or GED
- Bachelor's degree is preferred but not required.
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Strong communication skills (in person and email)
- Facility management, recreational programming, and supervisor experience preferred.
- Must be able to ascertain and understand facility operations and related problems and provide appropriate solutions.
- Must be able to make decisions and act effectively in stressful situations.
- Must be able to work under stress, adapt quickly to changing situations, and meet last-minute demands effectively.
- Excelled customer service and interpersonal skills are essential.
- Familiarity is needed with Microsoft Word and Excel in order to enter data into reports and department records.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:
- Sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, manual dexterity for use of office machines and equipment and occasional light to heavy lifting.
- Must have the ability to hear clearly and distinctly for effective communication with clients, parents, students, faculty, and staff,
- Vision to include: near, far, depth perception, ability to distinguish colors and the ability to bring objects into focus.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs.
- Coordinator of the events may involve both inside and outside work under all elements.
LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENT(S):
- Current Adult CPR & Safety & First Aid certification is required during the first initial 90 days.
