JOB DESCRIPTION
- FULL TIME
Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses aligned with CSWE standards, advising students, contributing to curriculum development, supervising field placements, assessing student competencies, serving on committees, and engaging in scholarship. Professors also integrate a Christian worldview into teaching and mentorship, supporting ORU’s mission to build Spirit-empowered leaders.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Teach assigned baccalaureate Social Work courses, including preparation of course materials, delivering lectures, leading discussions, and facilitating classroom activities.
- Evaluate student performance through grading assignments, exams, and other assessment methods.
- Stay current with developments in the field of Social Work and incorporate relevant research, theories, policies, and practices into the curriculum.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to ensure a cohesive learning experience and contribute to the continuous improvement of the Social Work program.
- Comply with all institutional policies, including those related to academic integrity and student success.
- Provide advice to students.
- Participate and attend monthy committee meetings.
REQUIREMENTS
- Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution is required; a Doctorate in Social Work (DSW or PhD) is preferred.
- LCSW
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in social work practice, preferably with direct experience in clinical settings, community organization, or social work administration.
- Previous teaching experience at the college or university level is strongly preferred.
- Active licensure in social work (LCSW, LMSW, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive educational environment for diverse student populations.
- Ability to engage and inspire students through dynamic teaching and innovative learning strategies.
