JOB DESCRIPTION
- FULL TIME
This position is responsible for providing administrative assistance to the graduate School of Counseling (SoC), the SoC Assistant Dean, and for helping in the successful flow of administrative tasks, including, but not necessarily limited to, the following:
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the Assistant Dean of the School of Counseling in all aspects of administering the school’s graduate programs.
- Support the Assistant Dean, Directors, and faculty of the School of Counseling in all aspects of maintaining CACREP accreditation standards, including data collection for self-study and review documents, generating reports, keeping records, completing annual program evaluations, and other tasks.
- Assisting in finalizing degree plan documents for School of Counseling graduate degrees and ensuring they are posted to the appropriate site by the deadline dates.
- Maintaining wait lists for classes, force adding students as needed/appropriate, and informing directors of the need for new sections.
- Assisting in the organization and set-up of blended-intensive weeks
- Helping in facilitating the financial activity of the SoC, including initiating payments, submitting requisitions, and other related tasks.
- Providing occasional support for instruction in courses.
- Assisting in the collection of data for the purpose of assessing student needs and/or improving the program.
- Preparing documents for faculty meetings, taking official meeting minutes, and saving appropriate documents in the official file for faculty.
- Assisting in preparation for and official meeting minute-taking of the SoC advisory board meetings.
- Coordinating Graduate Student Workers in assisting any of these tasks
QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES
Minimum Job Requirements
- Candidates must be conscientious and detail-oriented, have some college education, and be flexible in a high-paced work environment.
- Candidates must be able to work independently and take initiative on various tasks within a collaborative, team environment.
- Candidates will need to be skilled in coordinating and working with diverse groups and prioritize sensitivity to the needs of various populations of students, both international and domestic.
- The Counseling Coordinator will need to be able to learn proficiency in technological skills, including the use of Microsoft Office, Zoom, Teams, and others.
Preferred Job Requirements
Ideal Candidates will have a college degree and administrative experience in a counseling, psychology, addiction, or family studies-related environment.
