JOB DESCRIPTION
- FULL TIME

The Oral Roberts University School of Liberal Arts invites applications for a full-time faculty position as coordinator of our composition program, beginning August 2025.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The duties of the position include, but are not limited to: overseeing our freshman and junior year composition courses, including syllabi and textbook updates; working collaboratively with English/writing faculty to develop, implement, and assess curricula; training, supervising, and evaluating new instructors; and teaching approximately 9 credit hours per semester.

In addition to teaching assigned courses, full-time faculty members are expected to attend chapel services and academic meetings, serve on academic committees, support student activities, and hold office hours for mentoring and advisement.

REQUIREMENTS

• While a PhD is preferred, candidates must have a minimum of an M.A. in Composition/Rhetoric, English, Creative Writing, or a closely related field and have a commitment to excellent teaching and scholarship.
• The preferred candidate will have expertise in composition pedagogy (including integration of AI), use of technology, and multimodal classroom techniques.
• Faculty member will take a leading role in the revision of freshman composition curriculum to incorporate the use of AI and the ORU distinctive of critical Spirit-empowered thinking.
