JOB DESCRIPTION
- FULL TIME


Create from concept to completion video reports, recaps, video announcements, engaging stories, and promotional videos to support events, marketing, admissions and development objectives. Production of these videos will often require scripting, shooting, and editing independently or with team members.

The position may involve supervisory responsibilities and task delegation to other staff and student workers/interns to help develop and improve their skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES


  1. (85%) Producing – complete project from start to finish – scripting, directing, shooting, editing – twice weekly chapel video announcements, promos, event recap videos, short stories/testimonials.
  2. (10%) Crew for productions: Fill any positions needed for studio or location shoots as deemed necessary by UMP manager – Camera, Director, Assistant Director, Stage Manager, Lighting, Audio, CG, etc.
  3. (5%) Interface with clients to assess needs for productions

REQUIREMENTS


EDUCATION:

Requires a bachelor's degree or “experience equivalent” in Communications, Broadcast Design or another related field.

LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENT(S):

Must have a valid driver’s license in order to occasionally drive a university vehicle for the purpose of accomplishing the duties of the position.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS will include but not be limited to:

Sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, manual dexterity for use of office machines and production equipment, balancing to prevent falling or erratic movement and occasional light to heavy lifting (in regard to TV equipment). Must have the ability to hear clearly and distinctly for purposes of editing material and effective communication with students, faculty and staff both in person and through electronic means. Vision to include: near, far, ability to distinguish colors, depth perception, and the ability to bring objects into focus.

HOURS OF WORK & ATTENDANCE:

Must be available and willing to work extended hours beyond the normally scheduled office hours of 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. in order to meet deadlines. This may include evening and/or weekend hours and holidays as need arises.

Reports for scheduled work shift(s) in a dependable and timely fashion in order to assure the smooth operation of the work unit and to minimize the interruption or delay of regular work output for the department. Has no (or very rare) unscheduled absences, occurrences of tardiness, or requests to leave early.

TRAVEL:

Travel includes assignments that are both in and out of state or out of country and may include an overnight stay(s).
