OVERVIEW

- FULL TIME

Assures the maintenance and validation of data integrity within the Banner Student Information System and DegreeWorks. Analyses processes and corrects errors in basic programming of codes, errors in digital forms, course schedules and student records when needed. Works with system programming to support federal compliance regarding Veterans Administration and time status rules for the Clearinghouse and the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS).

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Analyzes and modifies institutional and student information in Banner
• Create and assign curriculm codes for new programs, majors, concentrations, cognates and minors
• Program new degree evaluation reports and transcript
• Create, activate, and roll mid-term and final grades int he Banner system.
• Maintains and monitors DegreeWorks data to guarantee accuracy of reports and processes for students and academic advisors. Oversight of functions including student planning, advising support, degree audit, and transfer articulation.
• Analyzes and conducts electronic searches in university platforms to identify flaws and holes in the system and corrects those errors in the system as needed.
• Streamlines processes by determining flow or implementing automation to improve efficiency for constituents
• Consults with all academic departments, Student Services, and the Office of Student Success to validate data integrity and ease of access.
• Monitors the application of systems including trouble-shooting on behalf of students and University personnel experiencing challenges with Banner, VISION and the ORU electronic petition system.
• Designs, programs, and tests modifications and improvements for the ORU electronic petition system.
• Maintains the storage of electronic student records in the Banner Document Management System (BDMS).
• Completes other tasks as assigned.

COMPETENCIES

Knowledge & Experience

Course work in SQL and SQL+ preferred. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Skills & Abilities:

• Experience using Ellucian Banner and Argos preferred. Familiarity with SQL, CSS, HTML, and/or JavaScript is preferred.
• Position requires accuracy of data entry, critical thinking, strong oral communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills.
