OVERVIEW
- FULL TIME
The Graphic Designer will oversee and create the layout and design of digital and print material for Oral Roberts University. This position will be responsible for designing standard print projects, web, social media, digital presentation and advertising graphics as well as helping execute strategic campaigns in both print and digital efforts. A thorough understanding of web-based and print-ready procedures will be essential.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Works on layout of projects with various departments throughout the university. All designs follow the ORU branding standards. These projects include but are not limited to brochures, posters, programs, postcards, event artwork, banners, website and digital presentations.
- Creating graphics for digital advertising campaigns.
- Send files to the print shop and external companies.
COMPETENCIES
EDUCATION:
Requires a degree in graphic design or related field.
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Requires two years of applicable experience including educational projects.
Software: Must have experience with Adobe CC, especially InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop, as well as Canva. Must have a sound knowledge of print and web design standards. Must also have experience with MS Word, Excel and Power Point. Familiarity with motion graphics a plus.
- Must be able to articulate thoughts well for the purpose of effectively communicating information one-on-one or in a group.
- Excellent interpersonal skills are paramount for effective communication with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Has a displayed ability to be a self-starter and works well both as a team member and independently.
- Must have a keen eye for detail regarding information as it appears on/in numerous formats.
- Good reading, spelling, mathematical, oral, written, grammatical, editing, creative thinking, and proofreading skills are a must.
- Must be able to maintain organization within a busy office environment.
- Must have the ability to handle the stress associated with meeting deadlines for multiple projects.
- Must have the ability to exercise diplomacy when confronted with difficult questions or situations.
- Always maintains a professional demeanor especially for the purpose of receiving and responding to inquiries and transmitting information.
- Works cooperatively with a variety of personalities.
- Experience with online higher education is a plus.
- Must accept and be openly supportive of the purposes and goals associated with Oral Roberts University.
- Must maintain a high level of confidentiality of information.
- Maintains compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) policy and its’ procedures.
