JOB DESCRIPTION
- FULL TIME
The Oral Roberts University College of Arts & Cultural Studies invites applications for a new position within the School of Worship, Media, & Performing Arts. The role will work within the newly revamped curriculum of the Worship Ministry program and the Commercial Music program.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities would include instruction and student mentoring in all aspects of the Worship Ministry degree program along with the ongoing curricular review and implementation of updates to the major. Additionally, the ideal candidate
REQUIREMENTS
- A vibrant and growing Christian faith and agreement with the University's commitment to Spirit-empowered teaching.
- A graduate degree, preferably a terminal degree in Music, Theology, or a combination of both areas with significant professional experience.
- At least 10 years experience in essentials taught within both majors.
- Expertise in instrumental: keyboard and/or guitar, as well as vocal performance.
- Must be able to present a clear apologetic of the Spirit-empowered Praise & Worship ministry in the US and worldwide.
- Experience in live worship and concert performance technologies, including such technologies as Ableton, Mainstage, and other platforms.
- Experience with recording techniques and recording software such as Logic Pro and Pro Tools.
- Able to teach DAW privately and in a classroom setting.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate others; able to delegate responsibilities to maximize team and individual contributions. Proven track record as a manager of academic and professional ensembles and teams with proven ability to grow and nurture team members.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines under pressure and in a fast-paced environment. Ability to effectively prioritize and manage competing efforts and deadlines continuously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the proven ability to influence and build strong collaborative relationships with people at all levels, including technical and non-technical employees, peers, students, staff, internal and external clients, vendors, and senior management.
- Must be passionate about content creation, branding, and, as needed, media relations with a finger on the pulse of the latest industry trends and a strong network of existing relationships.
- Possess an understanding of copyright regulations, licensing, and myriad musical legal protections surrounding digital content, images, and digital transmission.
- Broad-thinking problem solver who engages proactively and takes the initiative for new productions and concerts.
- Strong working knowledge of current national and international events and trends.
- Able to travel for productions and student artist recruiting efforts.
- Able to keep flexible hours, including evenings, for concerts and productions as needed.
