JOB DESCRIPTION
- FULL TIME
The successful candidate will teach courses related to production, management & the performing arts. In addition, under the general oversight of the Directors of Worship, Media, and Performing Arts, the MAC Events Coordinator manages production for music & media events, ensures event promotion, as well as oversees the box office and audience interactions for the School of Worship, Media, and Performing Arts.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Faculty: Teach courses in Theatre, Music, Media, or Dance management/production. Advisor to students within the Worship, Media, and Performing Arts majors.
- Staff & Production Coordination: Coordinate production staff for Music & Media events &/or School/College events. Schedule and lead production meetings for assigned events.
- Event Planning & Logistics: Maintain MAC master calendar, including coordinating classroom, rehearsal, and performances spaces. Assists Directors of Music and Media in overseeing budgets and purchasing.
- Facility & Safety Management: Oversee venue usage, negotiate space bookings, and implement safety standards.
- Student Engagement: Assign students to front of house production roles, monitor progress, and facilitate training.
- Marketing & Documentation: Collaborate with various departments on marketing, programs, production photos, and archival recordings related to MAC events.
- House Management & Box Office: Supervise box office and usher staff for all Media Arts Center events, ensure smooth audience experience, manage ticketing, and oversee event safety and opening/closing procedures.
REQUIREMENTS
REQUIRED:
- Master of Fine Arts degree (or equivalent) in performing arts or production management.
- Expertise in theater, music, dance, or media production.
- Strong budgeting, organizational, and communication skills.
- Flexibility to work nights and weekends
PREFERRED:
- Leadership experience
- Contract negotiation skills
- Problem-solving ability
- Familiarity with university systems.
