JOB DESCRIPTION
- PART-TIME
Functions as the main Veteran School Certifying Official. Performs regular certification and reporting for students using Veteran's Benefits as well all reporting related to Department of Defense MOU. Provides advising and degree evaluations for military students.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides and coordinates certification of VA benefits for veterans and their dependents, including face to face interaction. Maintains files on each individual veteran.
- Prepares and submits all reporting to the Department of Defense Tuition Assistance partners, including: Army, Air Force, Navy, & Marines.
- Prepares and coordinates all VA Compliance Survey Requests.
- Submits requests for yearly VA re-approvals, including preparing all needed documentation.
- Stays up-to-date on all VA and DoD MOU requirements, changes in laws, etc.
- Enrolls and maintains records on ROTC-OSU partnership students.
- Other tasks as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
High school diploma required. Bachelor preferred.
LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REOUIREMENT(S):
Certified School Certifying Official (can be obtained within 30 days of start).
EXPERIENCE/ SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Related experience in a university setting preferred. Knowledge of Ellucian Banner software beneficial. Must have a basic working knowledge of Microsoft office 365 products.
- Position requires accuracy of data entry, critical thinking, strong oral and written communication skills, ability to multi-task and strong interpersonal skills.
- Must maintain a high level of confidentiality of information.
- Maintains compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) policy and its' procedures.
