OVERVIEW

The Academic Analyst assists in the coordination of academic institutional research, reporting, and data analytics efforts; supports program evaluation and operational assessment by providing academic data reporting; and ensures integrity in reporting institutional data to the Federal government and various surveys and ranking services.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work closely with the Assistant to the Provost for Academic Excellence and Institutional Effectiveness to produce regular data reports.
• Analyze various data sets to compile periodic reports and publications.
• Assist with national IPEDS survey administration and with external surveys from third-party constituents.
• Support academic data analysis and reporting.
• Ensure integrity with academic data compliance requirements.
• Assist in the coordination and facilitation of the program review data.
• Prepare statistical reports and data used in response to internal and external requests.
• Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree (with preference given to Data Science degrees); requires knowledge of data analysis using SQL

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

• Experience in working with dataset administration.
• Demonstrates excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including effectively presenting and articulating data to leadership.
• Works collaboratively with individuals possessing varying technical and research backgrounds.
• Prioritizes accurate data reporting.
• Manages multiple projects concurrently and works collaboratively and/or independently toward project completion.
• Establishes and maintains effective, collegial working relationships with campus constituents.
• Manages a high level of confidentiality of information.
• Has the ability to engage effectively with people from a variety of cultural backgrounds.
• Maintains compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
