Position Overview
The Graphic Designer supports the work of Enrollment Management by creating visually compelling materials that represent ORU’s brand and remain relevant for the audiences we serve. The Designer will be responsible to work collaboratively to package key content and design required to guide prospective and returning students and their families through the admissions, enrollment, and registration process. This position plays a key role in bringing communication strategies to life through engaging, on-brand design, effectively driving students forward in support of ORU’s aggressive growth goals.
Essential Functions
- Create compelling visual design across platforms which include but are not limited to email templates, flyers, viewbooks, brochures, postcards, web banners, social media images, signage, videos, letters, and event materials.
- Represent the ORU brand by stewarding the standards in support of strategic messaging that is tailored to each audience, including but not limited to high school students, parents, graduate students, and current ORU students.
- Work collaboratively to provide asset management and campaign coordination to support and develop cohesive and audience-focused campaigns.
- Prepare and package final items for production and delivery with understanding of specs required for print versus digital while coordinating with vendors and internal partners as needed.
- Assist with content planning and contribute creative ideas throughout.
- Maintain visual consistency and relevancy while ensuring accessibility across platforms and materials.
- Complete 95% or more of all projects within the requested timeframes for quantity and quality assurance and production of pieces.
- Participate in special projects, meetings, support, and assistance, as assigned.
Qualifications and Competencies
Knowledge & Experience
- Requires a bachelor’s degree in related field, such as Advertising; Public Relations; Communication; Digital Media; Graphic Design, etc.
- Experience in designing for the web and email campaigns is essential. Experience using graphic design or email marketing platforms such as Canva, Pardot, Fire Engine Red, Mailchimp or Constant Contact is strongly desired. Experience using a CRM or project management software is desirable. Experience in a University setting is preferred. Experience with ORU and its features and benefits are beneficial.
