Position Overview
The Content Creator supports the work of Enrollment Management by developing clear, accurate, and engaging written content for both prospective and current students and their families. This position plays a key role in helping audiences understand the admissions and enrollment process, timelines, and next steps, while driving students forward in their action, to support ORU’s aggressive enrollment goals.
Essential Functions
- Assemble required details, brainstorm, and strategize, to create and edit content for a variety of platforms and various audiences. This includes emails, web pages, printed letters, brochures, mailing collateral, text messages, and other communications.
- Ensure all messaging includes clear next steps tailored to each audience (e.g., high school students, international students, transfer students, graduate students, parents, etc.).
- Translate procedural and technical information (such as application steps, deadlines, event information, and financial aid options) into easy-to-understand steps that produce action and represent the University with excellence.
- Schedule and deploy approved assets.
- Collaborate with various team members on campaign planning and content scheduling to ensure cohesion and timely support.
- Maintain consistency and relevancy of voice and tone representing a variety of audiences, across all communications.
- Excellent eye for detail to proofread and edit content for accuracy, grammar, and clarity.
- Responsible for ongoing content updates and revisions across platforms, with foresight into the changes required in one area understanding what may be necessary in other areas impacted.
- Contribute to a content calendar and help ensure timely delivery of communication needs.
- Must complete 95% or more of all projects within the requested timeframes for quantity and quality assurance required for production.
- Participate in special projects, meetings, and supportive functions across the division, as assigned.
Qualifications and Competencies
Knowledge & Experience
- Requires a bachelor’s degree in related field, such as: English, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, etc.
- Experience using email marketing platforms such as Pardot, Fire Engine Red, Mailchimp or Constant Contact is strongly desired. Experience using a CRM is desirable. Experience in a University setting is preferred. Experience with ORU and its features and benefits are beneficial.
